Feeling Grateful
How quickly this year is flying by, don’t you think? Initially, I felt embarrassed to see my last journal entry dated February 20, 2024. However, upon reflection, I realized there are good reasons for my absence.
I never intended to write every month religiously; rather, I aimed to share when I had something meaningful to say. And then, life happened.
March was a busy month, and I enjoyed a week away in Northumberland. With my husband and our six hounds, I relished the benefits of wide open spaces in nature. We made a conscious effort to explore new places instead of revisiting familiar ones. I returned home feeling renewed and ready to dive back into work.
April and May passed in a blur as I increased my availability due to an influx of new clients—a nice problem to have, for which I am very grateful.
June brought a significant celebration—our 40th wedding anniversary. With new rings to mark the occasion, we look forward to many more years together. A husband, best friend, and supporter—how lucky can a girl get? June also saw myself and a friend take a three-day break back to Northumberland. I loved showing her some of my favorite spots, and we created new memories filled with laughter.
Now, it’s mid-July, though the weather feels more like autumn. Halfway through the year—how is that even possible? The new clients have become regulars, and I remain grateful and mindful of my good fortune. Not only have I built a business I love, but I also enjoy the best of both worlds with free time to pursue what makes me happy.
While many people meticulously plan their business and personal lives, I am content to see where this road takes me. Of course, I have ideas in mind, but I learned long ago to trust in what the universe has in store for me. All my plans are flexible and open to interpretation.
What will the rest of this year bring? I know for sure that I’ll be back in Northumberland at the end of September, celebrating another birthday in October, and ticking off house projects from a long list in the meantime. Beyond these events, well let’s see what comes my way.
